Samar Small
Chair of Trustees

Samar is a governance professional within the Civil Service where she oversees various Government Major Programmes, including the world-leading AI Lab. She has over 20 years’ experience providing inspirational and engaging leadership  of large and geographically dispersed teams in the public, private and third sector.

Passionate about work which transforms the daily lives of citizens, her most recent non-executive roles were with the Police Accountability and Legitimacy Group, and as a Board Member for Sport Wales where she served two terms and chaired the Equality panel.

I am delighted to join Two Rhythms, an organisation already so close to my heart, on this next stage of its exciting journey. Growing up in the 1990s with a sibling who had severe physical disabilities, it would have been lifechanging to have a charity like Two Rhythms around back then.

They say, ‘Coming together is a beginning and working together is success’ and I feel truly honoured to be working with this dedicated and passionate team.

I have had a lifelong background in performance and Dance, as both a tutor and practitioner. I sing with the BBC Chorus of Wales and have a longstanding personal connection to the charity, having raised over £4,000 for Two Rhythms through a TaeKwon-Do Challenge.
